Flooding Tips
If you do currently have an issue with flooding or have had an issue before, here are some helpful tips on some tips that you can do to alleviate some of the headache.
What TO DO after a flood occurs:
- Remove any excess water from floors or contents by mopping or using towels
- Place any plastic or aluminum foil between wet carpet and wood or metal furniture
- Turn off / unplug any electric items in the vicinity of water
- Gather loose items from floors
- Move any items from out of a room that may have a wet or sagging ceiling. Sometimes wet and sagging ceilings can collapse from the weight of trapped water.
- Place any floor fans that you may have over wet areas.
- Remove any special items from the vicinity asap, (heirlooms, paintings, keepsakes, etc.)

What NOT TO DO after a flood occurs:
- Don’t leave any wet contents or fabrics in place.
- Don’t leave any colored contents such as books or magazines on wet carpet or flooring
- Don’t turn on any electronics in the vicinity of water
